Rage Against The Machine want Susan Boyle.

Rage Against The Machine have reportedly asked Susan Boyle to perform with them this summer.

The band are playing a free gig at London’s Finsbury Park on June 6 after their single ‘Killing In The Name’ won the Christmas No.1 spot last year ahead of X Factor winner Joe McElderry’s ‘The Climb’.

Frontman Zack de la Rocha said: “I really hope there are no hard feelings with Simon [Cowell]. He seemed to think that it was a bullying campaign but the truth is the British people wanted a change. I don’t think anybody has heard anything of that Joe guy since Christmas, but we have nothing against him. The truth is Simon’s shows occasionally produce talent. We love Susan Boyle, she is hot. To show there are no hard feelings we would like her to perform with us on stage this summer. She is a great vocalist and we would love to perform ‘Killing In The Name’ with her. Everybody knows her in the US and she can add her vocals to anything. It would be an honour for us.”

I hope Susan accepts their offer as I would really like to hear her take on Killing in the name. Bet it will be awesome.

To celebrate John Lennon’s 70th birthday there will be a two month festival in Liverpool.

The celebration of the late Beatles singer and guitarist (who was assassinated in 1980) will run from October 9 (his birthday) to December 9.

Although the programme of performers is yet to be announced, it is rumoured that Ozzy Osbourne will be part of the tribute show.

I am also headlining tribute show soon, it’s for one of the greatest soul singers of all time… Otis Redding.

Robbie’s World Cup contribution

Robbie Williams is doing his bit for England’s world cup campaign by contributing to the re-recording of ‘Three Lions’ with comedians Baddiel & Skinner.

The song originally released for Euro ‘96 was the official anthem for the England football team, it was written by the Lightning Seeds and reached No.1 in the charts on 1996 and 1998 (Re-released for the World Cup ‘98)

I’m not a big football fan myself but hope England do well in the competition this summer.

The Otis Tour kicks off with fundraiser for Haiti.

Dee Anderson and Luddy Samms will be performing live for the Haiti fund raising festival, as part of The Fabulous Sound of Otis Redding – The Ultimate Tour.

The event will be held at Loughborough Community Centre (Barrington Rd Brixton SW9) on the 18th April 2010.

Both artists are very excited for this opportunity to help the Haitian people, who’s country was devastated by a catastrophic 7.0m earthquake on the 12th January, and urge everybody to show their support.

Celebs run for Sport Relief.

TV and music stars joined the 165,000 runners who braved the Sport Relief mile run.

Celebrities including singer Beverley Knight, DJ Norman Cook and comedian Patrick Kielty turned out to support the charity event along with eager runners in an array of unusual outfits.

It’s great to see celebrities doing their bit for charity. I myself am performing a one off gig for Haiti soon.

Watch this space for details.

Well done guys, keep up the good work.

Amy takes up Capoeira

Amy Winehouse is taking care of herself with a bit of Afro-Brazilian martial arts.

Her new obsession is Capoeira, a non-violent karate-style dance which was recently featured in the links between programmes on BBC1.

A source said: “Amy loves it because it’s good for strength, toning and great for working up a sweat.”

I think Amy is amazing. I really hope this new fitness regime will help her focus.

Kate Winslett and Sam Mendes splitting up

I was surprised to hear about Kate Winslett and Sam Mendes splitting up.

They looked so cozy at the Oscars, but maybe they are still good friends.

I hope so, I really like both of them, having met them years ago.

Rihanna will duet with JLS

The collaboration which was masterminded by Jay-Z is a plan to help the boys seek to crack America.

There are also plans for JLS to work with Kayne West and Boyonce.

“Working with JLS is something that will happen this year. Jay will make stars out of them. He has been a great mentor to me. They can sing, they can dance, they look good, actually they look very good.” said Rihanna.

I love JLS & Beyonce.

Good Luck Boys.

BOYZONE pay tribute to Stephen Gately

BOYZONE put on an emotional performance last night, paying tribute to former bandmate Stephen Gately.

The four remaining members performed together for the first time since Stephen’s tragic death.

They took to the stage during Ronan Keating’s solo show at the Royal Albert Hall and sang new track “Gave it all away” complete with Stephen’s vocals, which were recorded before his death.

Ronan said “”Stephen will always be with us when we sing and when we perform. He will live on in our music.”

It’s tragic to loose someone close and it’s good to see that the boys are dealing with the loss of a band member, but as the saying says “The show must go on”

Internet Service Providers could make £200m from music downloads.

Trade body of the BPI says that if digital music services are bolted onto broadband packages could increase revenue and reduce piracy.

“It is increasingly clear that it isn’t smart to be a ‘dumb [broadband] pipe’,” said the BPI chief executive, Geoff Taylor. “This report shows that the revenue potential of digital music services alone makes sound economic sense for ISPs.”

Speaking from experience, producing CD’s is expensive, not only the pressing and printing costs but also the distribution.

Digital distribution via the web is fantastic as you can reach a wider market, at a fraction of the cost. I really hope the ISP get on board.
